do you ever have a craving to smell something? or, like, a smell mirage? right now i really want to smell white flowers--gardenia and tuberose. i was wanting to smell them so much i could almost smell exactly what i wanted to smell...

You probably don't get notification of comments here anymore. I am no doubt talking to the void. But I was poking around blogland and found a breadcrumb trail that led me to the land of Emily (and Marsha!) and felt to tell you a story: when we lived together way back in like 2002, I was sorely in need of guidance on perfume selection. I told you what scents I liked and you recommended Clarins Par Amour. I ordered some online and when it arrived I hated how it smelled. I was so confused--you and everyone online said it was a delicous smell--what was wrong with my nose? Or maybe my bottle had gone off? Well, this summer I decided it was finally time to get rid of the bottle so I asked my mom if she wanted it. She sprayed some on herself and said it smelled wonderful. She was so happy to have it.

So yeah. My nose is broken. Thank you for trying to help me smell better, but I doubt there's any hope for me.
