out in the perfume hinterland of utah we don't get to smell l'artisan parfumeur stuff very often, but i scored some samples so i thought i'd tell you about them.
mure et musc extreme: i don't know about this; it's so sweet and assy. the original is supposed to have more toppy notes, lemon and bergamot and stuff. i'd like to smell that one, because this is so so musky. but it's a really smooth musk; a smooth ass with a veil of berry floating over it. if i wanted to go to a basement cabaret poetry reading wearing a corset and thigh-high boots this is the perfume i'd put on. its heart is just like le parfum de therese; remind me to find out what that is. animalic chypre and so forth.
bois farine: this is more like it, but also way too sweet for my taste. it gets sweeter as it wears. very warm wood with that floury smell, but it doesn't smell like baked goods. the wood rises up just when things are about to get too sweet (that's what she said). david likes this one and says it smells like peanuts.
i got a couple of others that i'll try tomorrow, and i got dzing! for marsha. i have a feeling it's going to be the best one, because marsha has a way of knowing what the best things are.
